$144 Million Later, Whitman Just as Rich

Think Meg Whitman spending more than $100 million on her gubernatorial run hurt her? Think again.

The former eBay CEO once again made Forbes list of billionaires and despite spending $144 million in her unsuccessful bid to become California's governor, Whitman is worth just as much as ever.

For three out of the last four years, Whitman's personal wealth again topped $1.3 billion. In 2009 her personal fortune dipped to $1.1 billion because of a lower valuation for eBay stock, according to the Los Angeles Times.

But despite spending over $100 million in her unsuccessful bid, Whitman is poised perfectly to spend even more next election if she wanted to try again.

Since losing the election, Whitman has been busy getting back into the tech world by joining the boards of Zipcar and HP.
