McDonald's Healthier in San Diego

Reduced calories and sodium available in happy meals.

McDonald's restaurants in San Diego will be the first in the country to start serving the new healthier happy meals.

As of Friday, the Happy Meals will now include apple slices with each meal and a smaller size of French fries.

Customers can still choose to have either a hamburger or chicken McNuggets, but with less sodium.
Beverages include fat-free chocolate milk, 1 percent low-fat white milk or apple juice.

A McDonald's spokesperson says they've reduced the calories in Happy Meals by an average of 20 percent. Nutritional information is now also available on most smart phones.
