Couple Robbed and Assaulted, Two Suspects Arrested

Robbery followed by pursuit through El Cajon

A couple was robbed and assaulted Wednesday night in their apartment by three male suspects.

The suspects later led police on a chase through El Cajon, which resulted in the arrest of two suspects, according to a San Diego Police watch commander.

The apartment on 4041 Oakcrest Dr. in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood was broken into at about 9 p.m.

All three suspects were armed. One suspect pistol whipped the resident during the robbery and then fled with the other two suspects in a silver Dodge Challenger.

Police responded quickly and pursued the car from College Ave., on Interstate 8 to 1300 Peach Ave. in El Cajon, where the suspects then bailed on foot after their car's tire popped.

Two of the suspects were taken into custody and positively identified. Police are still searching for the third suspect.

Robbery detectives are also investigating the apartment.
