One person was killed during rush hour Wednesday night in Kearny Mesa, according to fire officials.
The accident happened at 5:48 p.m. in the HOV lane on northbound Interstate 15, just south of State Route 163.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert and shut down two lanes of traffic.
There is no word on the victim’s identity or on what caused the crash.
