1 Killed in Dulzura Collision

A man was killed after colliding with another car on SR-94 near the Lucky Six Truck Trail in Dulzura Friday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed.

A 42-year-old woman was driving eastbound on the highway just after 4 p.m. when a 35-year-old man driving westbound allowed his Ford Focus to drift onto the right shoulder. He then overcorrected and veered into oncoming traffic directly in front of the woman’s Toyota Corolla.

Unable to avoid the Focus, the Corolla broadsided the car.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, along with a 17-year-old and an eight-year-old passenger, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, officials said.
