1 Killed, 3 Hurt in Alleged DUI Crash

A driver who allegedly hit and killed a bicyclist, then hit a parked car, which crashed into a store injuring three people was arrested Saturday night, according to CHP officials.

The 54-year-old bicyclist was crossing Main Street near Kalbaugh Street in Ramona at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a black SUV, Sgt. Damien Budwine said.

The bicyclist died at the scene.

“After the vehicle struck the bicyclist, it went off onto the roadway and struck a parked car that had family members inside the car, pushed that car into Mike’s Liquor Store, where it did damage inside the store,” Sgt. Budwine said.

The driver was arrested at the scene, but the charges were not immediately available.

“We had some minor injuries to the two passengers that were in the parked vehicle and we had an occupant of the store who suffered cuts due to flying glass and debris,” Sgt. Budwine said.

The name of the bicyclist has not been released.
