Six people have been arrested after a man was killed and another was injured in a fight on a bike path Saturday evening in Santee.
The altercation happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 9300 block of Mission Gorge Road, under State Route 52.
Both victims, who were transients, suffered trauma to their upper torsos, according to deputies. The 55-year-old transient man killed has been identified as Stephen Lee Hissom.
Deputies arrested six people on suspicion of murder. One is a minor and none are transients themselves, according to officials. The five adults booked in jail have been identified as Cassidy Rowin, 18; Tyler Dare, 19; Brian Kish, 18; Sarah Baillie, 18; and Danny Swan III, 19.
Deputies have not released a motive and could not say if alcohol, drugs or gangs were involved.
