A hit-and-run victim died from his injuries Monday after he was struck Friday night in Oceanside.
The victim Victor Macias was seriously injured when he was hit by a vehicle at Buena and Santa Barbara streets at 11:40 p.m. Friday, according to Oceanside Police.
Officers found Macias lying against the south curb of Buena Street, partially under a parked vehicle that was also damaged.
The suspected vehicle, which fled before police arrived, is described as a white pickup truck with heavy front-end damage.
Macias was taken to Scripps Hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The Oceanside Police Department will continue the investigation. At this point, investigators do not know if speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
