A family in Lemon Grove was terrorized after a neighbor set fire to their backyard.

Victor Nasser says his neighbor broke into his backyard around 2 a.m. Monday and set fire to religious icons.

The man allegedly tried to burn a cross, and then set fire to Nasser's fence.

Nasser saw it all happening and was able to knock the intruder down while his family called police.

"He got his punishment from God. He fell down, he injured his head, he was bleeding badly, and he got what was coming to him," said Nasser.

The suspect, 54-year old Jeffery Blevens, has a history of problem behavior according to police.

He faces battery, arson and other charges.
