Traffic Accident Kills 2 Marines in Mexicali

Military officials say the Marines were based at Camp Pendleton

Officials are looking into the death of two marines in Mexico

Two San Diego Marines died in a traffic accident in Mexco, said Camp Pendleton officials Saturday.

The accident happened early Friday morning in Mexicali, Mexico. The Marines were members of the Camp Pendleton-based 1st Marine Expeditionary Force.

The incident is under investigation and Marine Corps officials said they are cooperating with civil authorities.

Their names have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

No other information is available at this time.
