Thousands of Items Seized After Raid
From NFL jerseys to Lacoste shirts

Thousands of pieces of suspected counterfeit clothing have been seized in the North County.
An unidentified tipster led Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to raid two Oceanside swap meets and take the suspected fake brand-name clothing. Federal agents found counterfeit items such as NFL jerseys and Nike jackets, the North County Times reported. ICE agents have been investigating vendors at the Mission Bazaar and the Mission Tianguis on Mission Avenue for over a year, according to an ICE spokesperson.
ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are in charge of keeping counterfeit goods off the streets.
Peri Yi Shin, 47, owner of Sox & Sox at Mission Bazaare, admitted to the paper that she sold some fake brand-name apparel and that agents also searched her Oceanside home while keeping her and her sons in handcuffs for three hours. Agents confiscated everything from her business.
“It was very embarrassing,” Shin told the paper.
No arrests have been made so far, but a spokesperson with ICE said the raids are part of a larger operation and more action is expected.
