A former minister and music teacher has pleaded guilty to molesting three boys at churches in San Diego and Riverside counties.

San Diego County prosecutors say 47-year-old Jimmie Robinson Jr. of Los Angeles pleaded guilty in Superior Court to three felony charges of child molestation.

In a plea agreement, Robinson admitted molesting one boy from late 1999 to 2002, molesting a second boy in 2005 and a third boy last year.

After a boy reported abuse in September, police found DNA evidence that liked the ex-minister to the sexual assault. A police investigation found that Robinson used his position at various churches to mentor and take advantage of troubled boys.

He will be sentenced to 17 years in prison on June 30 under a plea agreement.
