Investigators found the bodies at the Hunter's Run apartment complex on Broadway

Officers found two people dead with gun shot wounds to their head and a sleeping teenager Thursday after responding to a call about a possible suicide, police said.

Investigators say they found the bodies of Gabriela Galvan, 33, and her 50-year-old live-in boyfriend, Lino Farias, at the Hunter's Run apartment complex on Broadway in El Cajon

Neighbors say the couple appeared to have a good relationship and can't believe this happened. James Christman says the couple only moved in a few months ago.

"I'm very surprised, very shocked, this is a very quiet well run complex," Christman said.

Investigators say Farias called a relative Thursday morning threatening to kill himself.  The relative called police and officers went to the apartment.

"Once they were able to get into the apartment, they found a sleeping teenager. They were trying to find the whereabouts of the adults inside the house, and were directed back to a master bedroom," Sgt. JD Arvan said.  He says the door was locked, so the officers had to break in and that's when they discovered the bodies, both with gunshot wounds to the head.

"The suspect had a self inflicted gunshot wound to his head, so we believe he took his life after shooting her," Arvan said.

Neighbors say Galvan had three children, a 13-year-old girl and two small boys. The boys weren't at the apartment when the shooting took place but investigators say the teenage daughter was inside her bedroom asleep, and didn't hear the gunshots.

"I have a 13 year old daughter of my own and I just can even begin to believe what that would be to wake up to that," Christman said.

Investigators are still trying to figure out a motive for the crime.
