It turns out that the car that plowed into a hardware store earlier this week in La Jolla was driven by a celebrity fashion designer.
British designer Zandra Rhodes, whose clients have included celebrities such as Princess Diana, confirmed she was in the crash Tuesday but didn't want to discuss the cause of the accident.
The accident happened in the 7700 block of Girard Avenue around 10:45 a.m., according to San Diego police.
A 42-year-old woman in the Meanley & Son Ace Hardware store was struck when the car smashed into the business, hitting a table that slammed into her, according to San Diego Fire Rescue department spokesman Maurice Luque. The woman was taken to a hospital but did not have life-threatening injuries.
Rhodes, who splits her time between homes in Del Mar and London, told The San Diego Union-Tribune she wasn't hurt.
It is not known if any charges would be filed.
