Obama Taps Local Men for Transition Teams

Two UCSD scholars were asked by President-elect Barack Obama to serve on his transition team.
Obama asked Dean Peter Cowhey to by a leader of his U.S. Trade Representative team. Cowhey is a trade policy expert and the dean for the school of International relations and Pacific studies.
Professor Mario Molina, who teaches chemistry and biochemistry at the university, was also tapped by the future president. Molina won the 1995 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his work and research on CFC's and the ozone. Molina was asked to help lead the team examining the nation's plans for science and technology.
