The feds have approved an investigation into Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Care Center after a complaint about an oxygenator failing, the Hartford Business Journal reports.

When you enter a hospital in California, the biggest problem likely to occur during your stay is a case of bedsores, according to a report released by the state.

California Watch obtained the data, which involves adverse events from July 2007 to July 2010, under the Public Records Act.

When you look at the list, it appears the most common issue is a high number of patients developing bedsores or “decubitis ulcers” during their stay.

In a list specifying adverse events broken down by hospital, Kaiser Foundation Hospital San Diego has more than any other local medical center with 28 over a three-year period. The San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital and Sharp Coronado are listed as having the least number of adverse events, showing only one in three years.
