For one day only, you can take ground beef you may have bought elsewhere and get beef that's "slime-free" - no questions asked.
Fresh & Easy offered customers a replacement package of beef for any fresh or frozen ground beef purchased from another retailer.
Pink slime is an ammonia-treated filler approved by the FDA to keep ground beef fresh.
Fresh & Easy Team Leader Stephanie Storc said they had a few customers take them up on the promotion at the company's North Park location.
“It can be anything they have in question may contain pink slime,” Storc said adding that the market’s beef never has and never will use the filler.
The promotion lasts through the end of the day Wednesday.
