Tis the season to be sick. As families and friends gather for the holidays to share the fun, they also could be sharing flu and cold germs, say doctors at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Also the stress that goes along with the season is another added factor says emergency room physician Dr. Danielle Douglas.
So she offers some tips on how to survive the holiday germs and blues. For example:
Avoid germs:
Get your flu shot
Cover your cough
Wash your hands frequently
Avoid food poisoning:
Clean food-contact surfaces often
Avoid cross contamination
Keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold
Avoid stress:
Manage alcohol intake
Plan ahead
Take a breather
