About 10,000 baby strollers are being recalled in the U.S. and Canada after six incidents in which they collapsed while children were inside.
Baby Jogger, of Richmond, Virginia, says the frame on its City Versa model can fail to lock in place, posing a hazard to babies trapped inside.
The company has received six reports of such cases. The models being recalled were manufactured between May 15 and Aug. 20, 2012. The date is printed on the stroller's black plastic side hinge below the words "Baby Jogger" and "City Versa," the company said in a press release.
The strollers were sold from July 2012 through October 2012 for about $450, the company said.
The company, which is issuing the recall along with the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission, said consumers should immediately stop using the strollers and contact them for a free replacement frame.
