Kicking Some Major Gas
This green event was interactive and showcased the latest fuel technologies

The event was electric, solar-powered and green.
The 2nd annual MTS Kick Gas Festival at Qualcomm Stadium showcased innovative alternative fuel technologies and gave people a chance to check out the vehicles for themselves.
There was everything from hydrogen-powered motorcycles and cars, to electric scooters and solar powered water fountains. The entertainment was interactive, so anyone who signed a waiver could take a ride in some of the newest personal vehicles. Ocean Beach Surf and Skate also hosted an interactive skating zone for anyone who brought their skateboard with them and there were performances from 20 bands and DJs, with reggae superstar Matisyahu headlining the concert.
The Metropolitan Transit System, which hosted the event, provided free transportation to the stadium. The festival's organizers and sponsors wanted to promote alternative transportation, sustainable living and organic and locally grown food sources.
“We brought together all the local non-profit organizations into the eco-zone to share in this day of sustainability and kicking gas and environmental awareness,” Mike D’Ascanio with earth-list said. “Everyone can make a difference, changes happen small, so do whatever you can to make a difference to sustainability and going green.”
