Mayoral Candidates Debate Transportation

Debate Wednesday evening at USD will be streamed live on NBC7.com

San Diego’s next mayor will inherit the difficult task of improving the region’s transportation infrastructure.

Mayoral candidates Carl DeMaio and Bob Filner will face off on the issue Wednesday night in a debate at USD sponsored by the area’s foremost transportation advocates.

The debate is one of many where the two candidates will face off before the general election. But Wednesday’s debate is one of the few that will be streamed live on the web.

Councilman DeMaio and U.S. Rep. Filner will discuss issues such as how to build communities that don't require much driving and how to improve public transportation. NBC 7's Mark Mullen will moderate the debate.
