A 20-year-old University of California, Santa Barbara student was found dead on the beach in Isla Vista Sunday morning.
A bicyclist discovered the body of Sierra Markee-Winkler on the beach around 7 a.m., according to a news release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Markee-Winkler was from Eureka but was living in Isla Vista while she attended school.
Her cause and manner of death was not released, and officials said it would take several weeks to conclude the coroner’s investigation.
