Three People Shot in Oakland, Half Mile From Warriors Parade

Three people were shot Friday afternoon, less than half a mile from the Golden State Warriors' championship rally main stage, Oakland police said.

Police said the shooting was reported at 12:11 p.m. in the 1800 block of Lakeshore Avenue. Three people, all male, were found suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

Police initially said two victims were critically injured but said later Friday afternoon that all three victims are in stable condition.

The shooting happened just a few blocks from the Henry J. Kaiser convention center on the south end of Lake Merritt, where a rally for the Warriors' NBA Championship was underway at the time. Police did not say whether the shooting was connected in any way to the parade.

β€œPreliminary indicates that the subjects were involved in an argument with another party before the shooting occurred,” police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said in a statement.

Officers are attempting to locate witnesses and gather evidence, according to police.

About 1 million people attended the parade and rally, police said.
