A Bay to Breakers participant has gone missing. He was last seen near the finish line on Sunday.

An Oakland man -- last seen near Ocean Beach in San Francisco shortly after the Bay to Breakers race finished -- is missing.

Beau Rasmussen, 27, was last seen noon Sunday near the Beach Chalet Brewery and Restaurant, where his phone, credit cards "and passport" were found by a bystander, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Friends say that he went to the beach by himself at midday Sunday after finishing the 7.46-mile Bay to Breakers race.

Rasmussen was reported missing  after he failed to show up for work at EDF Renewable Energy in San Ramon. He was reported missing by his co-workers, who filled out a report.

Those same coworkers were at Ocean Beach on Monday afternoon searching for signs of Rasmussen. Searches at local hospitals, jails, and with the Coast Guard -- who said that nobody fitting his description was seen entering the water -- have turned up nothing.

Rasmussen is 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds with brown hair and eyes, the newspaper reported. He was wearing jeans and a maroon football jersey with "Chris" and the number 28 on the back.
