Firefighter Faces Murder Conspiracy Charges in Love Triangle

The suspect is accused of conspiring with his girlfriend to kill the girlfriend's husband, authorities said.

A Southern California firefighter and a woman with whom he was allegedly having an affair face murder and conspiracy charges in the slaying and attempted cover-up of the woman's husband, police said.

Jonathan Michael Hearn, 24, of Hesperia, and Sabrina Limon, 35, of Helendale, were arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of Robert Limon, said Kern County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ray Pruitt. Investigators say they have hundreds of leads from witness and tips from the public to chase down.

In a phone interview from her home in New Mexico, Sharon Bean Reyes remembered Limon, 38, killed two days before his 14th wedding anniversary at a Tehachapi rail yard on Aug. 17.

"He loved everyone and everyone loved him," she said. "Everywhere he went, he made friends. Why would somebody want to kill my son?"

Limon and Hearn, a firefighter/paramedic with the Redlands Fire Department, were having an affair and are accused of hatching a plan to kill him, then covering it up by making the death look like a failed robbery, authorities said.

Limon family friend Elle Chandler was shocked.

She never suspected Sabrina Limon. She said the couple appeared to be deeply in love. Sabrina Limon appeared to have taken her husband's death extremely hard, she said.

"I just don't know how you could do that to a person," Chandler said. "A good father, a good man."

However she now realizes in retrospect her friend had not acted as she would have expected.

"I would be like, I know what you are going through you know, and I would think back, she was like, 'uh-huh,' you know? Just tired of hearing it." Chandler said.

It was not immediately clear whether the suspects had attorneys.
