Ellen Surprises LA Film Student With “Cash for Kindness”

A Los Angeles film student thought he was just helping out a stranger who had dropped items on a sidewalk

A film student and aspiring actor was stunned to learn his act of kindness -- helping a stranger who had dropped an armful of items on a sidewalk -- would be rewarded with $1,000 in cash as part of a "Cash for Kindness" segment on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

That stranger was actually Andy, a show correspondent who pretended to be on his way to perform at a party when he dropped magic act items all over the sidewalk. Peter, a York Film Academy LA student, stopped to help Andy in an act of kindness captured on video.

Peter was invited to be a guest on a taping for Thursday's show, where he received $500 for his kindess. He then received another $500 from Ellen after his surprised reaction.
