An unemployed couple was convicted of child abuse for keeping two girls, ages 5 and 10, locked inside a filthy mobile home for years while they spent their days playing the computer game "World of Warcraft," prosecutors said on Wednesday.
Lester Louis Huffmire and his wife Petra Huffmire, both 41 from Anaheim, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two felony counts of child abuse, two misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment, one misdemeanor count of contributing to delinquency of a minor, and sentencing enhancements for great bodily injury.
Lester Huffmire was sentenced to five years in state prison. Petra Huffmire was sentenced to three years and four months in state prison.
The couple kept two girls in an unsanitary mobile park for three years, from 2010 to 2013, prosecutors said.
Kitchen appliances were covered in mold and cobwebs. Stacks of trash, debris, mold, and feces were found throughout the home. A pile of used condoms was found under a stuffed teddy bear.
The place had no working toilets, officials said.
The defendants did not let the victims out of the home, and they kept the girls out of school, according to prosecutors.

The case broke May 20, 2013, when a neighbor called police who did a welfare check.
Once there, police found the girls with dirt encrusted on their feet. They had matted hair, their teeth were damaged beyond repair and they were malnourished, officials said.
NBC4 is attempting to obtain a statement from the defendants' attorneys.
