Children Returned Safe, Mother Arrested in Amber Alert Scare

Two children who police said was abducted by their biological mother earlier this week were found safe in the Lynwood area of Los Angeles Saturday.

Police said they found 8-year-old Emanuel Freeman and 9-year-old Adoniah Freeman in the 3000 block of East Imperial Highway. Their mother Ameenah Freeman was arrested on suspicion of child abduction.

An Amber Alert was issued for the children Thursday after Freeman didn’t return her kids to their grandmother’s home. They were last seen in Northridge before authorities got involved.

Officials said the mother came back to the grandmother’s home on Thursday and appeared to be disoriented. The children were not with her, police said.

The mother then left the area and authorities were worried that she was heading to Phoenix, Arizona, where the kid’s biological father lives.

Police said the mother was being held in jail on $80,000 bail.
