This Time, You Want the IRS Looking for You

The IRS is looking to return more than $11 million to Southern California taxpayers for either regular tax refunds or economic stimulus payments that have been returned back to IRS as undeliverable.  Close to 15,000 checks are waiting for the correct address.

In San Diego alone, there are 5,089 checks owed worth $3,483,463. The average check is worth $684. Click here for the complete list of San Diego County taxpayers who have a check waiting for them.

If you're not sure which type of check you may be due, the IRS suggests you check on a potential economic stimulus check first because of the Nov. 28 deadline.

The “Where’s My Stimulus Payment?" tool is the quickest and easiest way to check the status of a stimulus check and receive instructions on how to update your address. You can also call (866) 234-2942. To check on regular tax refunds, call (800) 829-1954.
