It's a dream-come-true for businesses at Big Bear and Wrightwood.

Good snow for the long, holiday weekend means a strong start to their season, and while it wasn't looking all that good for the first half of the 4-day holiday, it completely turned around on Saturday.

Snow started falling overnight and there was a reported 2-3 inches on the ground above 5500' by the time the chairs got underway up at Bear Mt., Snow Summit and Mountain High.  These resorts could end up with as much as 6-10" before the storm moves out early Sunday and with temperatures in the 20s, they'll continue to make snow for the next 3-4 days.

This storm started in Northern California and as much as a foot of new snow was reported up around Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain.  Be sure you have chains with you if you're headed to any of the mountains this weekend, even in the local mountains.  Both Laguna and Palomar are reporting constant snow falling as of Saturday morning.  They could end up with as much as 6" or more by Sunday.
