Imagine finding a cab using the GPS feature in your Smart Phone?  That's the idea behind Taxi Magic, a program that puts your phone to use tracking a cab and bringing it right to your door.

"Nobody likes to be on hold, you'll never have to wait on hold again," said Tim Csontos of Ride Charge.  The company makes the application for your iPhone and Blackberry that allows you to press a button and find the nearest cab.  You can even track it's progress without ever making a call.

The system is in the works in about 40 cities and will go live in San Diego by the end of February.

Not only will it help you find a cab but also pay for the ride.  "All you do is use the application to enter in how much you want to pay, including tip and you're done.  It's way faster than giving cash or swiping a credit card," said Csontos.

Ride Charge will even send you an e-mail receipt when you're done.
