Lindsay isn't the only one with relationship drama in the Lohan family.
The actress' infamous dead beat dad bolstered his burgeoning rap sheet when he was slapped with charges stemming from death threats he made against his fiancee if she dumped him, a Long Island district attorney said.
Appearing in court yesterday to face misdemeanor charges of aggravated harassment, Michael Lohan, 48, plead not guilty to charges that he threatened on-again-off-again girlfriend Erin Muller, 34, over the phone -- saying that "he would kill her and himself" if she left him, the Suffolk County district attorney's office said.
"By no means did I threaten to cause harm to Erin or myself," he told E! Online. "As a matter of fact, Erin even told the court that she didn't want to pursue anything. It's all going to be dropped."
The born-again Christian served a two-year prison sentence for assault, cocaine and DUI charges.
Lohan claims the latest charges were blown out of proportion and he was actually trying to help his distressed fiancee. He claimed Erin called him and sounded upset.
"A person she thought was her friend violated her in a way that I don't want to describe," he said about the phone call. "When I found out the truth it didn't sit well with me."
Relationship trouble seems to plague the Lohan family.
Lindsay was dumped by her girlfriend of nearly two years, Sam Ronson, in April and said she was heartbroken by the sudden breakup and was living "in absolute hell."
"I'm a f---ing 22-year-old girl who's in love," she said at the time through tears. "I felt like I was in 'Mean Girls' but worse: 'Mean Girls' was a movie."
Michael said he was in family court on Wednesday regarding a case involving two of their kids with ex-wife Dina Lohan. He owes $12000 in child support, the New York Post reported.
