Amanda Brumfield, estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton, awaits her trial in the death of a one-year-old girl.

Billy Bob Thornton's daughter is being held without bail after she was indicted yesterday on charges of first-degree murder in Orlando in the death of a one-year-old girl she was babysitting.

Amanda Brumfield, 29, made her first court appearance this morning in the death of her goddaughter, Olivia Garcia, who died from a skull fracture and bleeding of the brain in October 2008.

A judge denied her bond request this morning, and Brumfield will remain in the Orange County jail until her trial.

Brumfield told Ocoee police that the baby fell out of a playpen, though an autopsy found that the short fall, just 28 inches, couldn't have killed the child.

The estranged daughter of the Oscar-winning actor is also charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Brumfield is the daughter of Melissa Lee Gatlin, who was married to Thornton in the late '70s. Thornton said he hasn't spoken to his daughter for quite some time.
