Unpaid Bar Tab Leads to Stabbing: Police

Normal 0 A bouncer outside of a strip club was stabbed early Sunday after getting into a fight with a man who skipped out on his tab at a bar in North Park, according to San Diego police.

The incident occurred after the suspect, 27, left the Ten’s Showclub at 4307 Ohio St. at about 1 a.m., San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.

As the suspect left the club, the club’s bouncer went after him, Stafford said.

An argument began as the two moved down the street, at which point the suspect allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the bouncer four times.

The suspect then tried to flee the bouncer again, but the victim was able to get a hold of the man and pinned him down until police arrived, said Stafford.

During the struggle over the knife the suspect sustained a stab wound as well, Stafford said.

Both men were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and their identities were not immediately available.

The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
