According to officials, Francisco Villegas, 38, worked as a clown at the Escondido swap meet. Police believe he ran off with the girl, who they said is pregnant with his child. Her parents said she disappeared five days ago.

According to investigators, Villegas wrote love letters saying he wanted to marry the girl in Mexico.

"She's 14½ years old, which in Mexico with parental consent would be OK," private investigator Bill Garcia. "They would be able to marry."

The pair could be in Mexico, reported NBC 7/39. They may be traveling in a gray, early '90s Mazda with California plates.

Anyone with information is being urged to call the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
