It all occurred at a skate park the city had built for the teens. The community had wanted to give the kids a safe place to skate. The video starts off with a few punches. But it's not horseplay, it turns brutal and bloody. Some of the video footage has been blacked out."Once the kids warned me this was gonna happen, I heard: 'Wait, I'm going to get the camera,'" said Michael Hickerson, 15, one of the teens in the fight.Once the video hit the Internet, word got out and kids watched it at school. Then, Ionia police found out about it."We started realizing, 'Hey, this is our skatepark," said Ionia Public Safety Director Doug Bulling.Bulling said he's troubled by the fighting and the video. "We won't tolerate it," he said. This is the first Bulling has heard of this happening, and the kids said the fights have only occurred a couple of times.Any parent would be disturbed by the video -- especially a parent whose child was involved."It scares the life out of me," said Shannon Hickerson, MIchael Hickerson's mother. "My kid's getting hit. ... I just can't believe the damage they did to each other"Bulling said he is stepping up patrols in the area and pushing the city attorney to bring criminal charges against the kids involved.Authorities said four juveniles on the videotape have been charged with misdemeanors.
