SAN DIEGO -- Authorities across California are searching for a man wanted in connection with the molestation of his two stepdaughters.

Investigators believe Michael Joseph Chavez, 29, may be in San Diego.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is working with San Diego police and San Diego County Crime Stoppers in locating Chavez. Authorities said Chavez is an accomplished tattoo artist who travels often and may be living in San Diego or in Mexico.

Chavez is 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium to thin build, black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his body and on his arms.

Anyone with any information on Chavez's whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in connection with the case.
