Police Say 2 Arrests Made In Escondido Man's Killing
Teen Still Sought In Connection With Crime

ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Police Thursday announced two people have been arrested in connection with the homicide of Gerardo "Danny" Medina, who was stabbed multiple times in the area of East Mission Avenue and Maywood Street April 10.Officers responding to a fight call in the area discovered his body in the intersection at approximately 11:05 p.m.; Medina was declared dead at the scene.On Tuesday homicide investigators arrested Adan Valdez, a 26-year-old Escondido resident, as well as a 16-year-old juvenile. Valdez was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on homicide charges; the juvenile was taken to Juvenile Hall and charged with homicide as well.
A third suspect, Alexander Adolfo Salazar, is still sought in connection with the homicide. He is a 17-year-old Escondido resident described as a Hispanic male juvenile, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, and believed to be the third suspect responsible for the assault.The juvenile's identity is being released in the interest of public safety pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code 827.6., according to police.Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Salazar is asked to contact San Diego Crimes Stoppers at 888- 580-TIPS. A reward up to a $2,000 is available, up to a $1,000 available from Crime Stoppers, which the Escondido Police Department is matching with $1,000.
