SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Hall of Champions inducted four new members into the Breitbard Hall of Fame.USA Track and Field Hall of Famer Steve Scott; soccer star Shannon MacMillan, hockey player Willie O'Ree, who broke the color barrier as the first black player for the Boston Bruins; and basketball GM Pete Newell made up the class of 2008.For MacMillan, the day puts the finishing touch on long, wonderful journey.
"It's a dream come true," MacMillan said. "You know, growing up here, I was just a snot-nosed little kid running around, kicking a soccer ball, had no idea where soccer was going to within my life. I feel incredibly fortunate for everything it's blessed me with."Hundreds attended the ceremony, which was held on Tuesday.
