A minivan was broadsided by a car at the intersection of 5th and A streets around 6:45 p.m. officials said.

Two adults and five children were involved in the accident. Officials told NBC 7/39 all of the passengers were wearing their seatbelts, and that may have saved their lives.

Some of the passengers of the van were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the car was not hurt.

Officials are investigating the crash but believe one of the drivers ran a red light.
