ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Police arrested four people over the weekend in connection with two unrelated homicides in Escondido.

Officers took three suspects into custody in connection with the shooting death of Eduardo Aranda. The body of the 15-year-old victim was found early Saturday morning on Spruce Street near Seventh Avenue, police said. Witnesses told police a small red car pulled alongside Aranda and opened fire as he was walking.
Osiel Reyes, 18, and two juvenile suspects are in custody, investigators said. A fourth suspect, Edwin Rangel, is still at large, police said.In a separate incident, Antonio Mesa Hernandez was shot to death Saturday night in an alley near the 1200 block of East Second Street, police said. Witnesses told investigators that Hernandez and Augustine Ortuno, 27, were arguing when Ortuno pulled out a gun and shot Hernandez.Police arrested Ortuno Sunday following a high-speed chase.
