SoundDiego Presents: Switchfoot

SoundDiego is proud to present An Evening With Switchfoot at the La Jolla Playhouse on March 20.

Jon Foreman & Co. (Tim Foreman, bass, backing vocals; Chad Butler, drums; Jerome Fontamillas, guitar, keys, backing vocals; and Drew Shirley, guitar) will be offering up an intimate evening like no other, performing a 30-minute acoustic set, then taking questions from fans for another half-hour. General admission tickets are available for $75 -- or fans can spend $100 and trade up to a VIP ticket, which also includes a signed copy of the band's newest album, Vice Verses, as well as an hour-long meet-and-greet (there is a $5 fee for each ticket).

While many other acts that have broken big have left town after fame called, Switchfoot has stayed, helping to support the local music scene and musicians, including the boys in the Silent Comedy and the Howls. In fact, whenever we’ve polled local artists about who the nicest guys are in the local music scene, they always, always say, “the Foremans.”  Switchfoot perform shows in San Diego year after year, but only sparingly. Their last local sighting was in a headlining slot one night at 91X’s Wrex the Halls, which sold out Valley View Casino Center two evenings in a row in December. Over the years, the band has released eight studio albums, including the multiplatinum The Beautiful Letdown (2003) and last year’s Hello Hurricane, which garnered a Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album.

This is SoundDiego’s first time promoting a concert -- which we were able to do with the help of Eight24.com's Scott McDonald, who also blogs for SoundDiego -- but not its last: More shows may be announced in the coming week.
