SoCal Snow Deals

Here's some cheap ways to enjoy Southern California's winter wonderlands

Now that the winter chill has settled in to Southern California, it’s time to take advantage of snow at local mountains.

Thankfully San Diegans don’t have to drive far to experience snow – or pay a lot of money. There are plenty of places nearby to experience a winter wonderland for cheap.

Mount Laguna

Just one hour east of downtown San Diego is one of the few places to see snow in the county. The Laguna Mountain Lodge typically has online-only specials that let you spend some quality time in the snow. Kids will love this family-friendly snow spot as many hills are good for sledding.

Big Bear
One of Southern California’s biggest mountains is a popular destination for SoCal skiers and snowboarders. With every purchase of a discounted midweek adult lift ticket ($69) guests can receive a free child ticket. You can also get a good deal when combining lift tickets and lodging.

Mount Baldy
Take a break from work and go tubing at Mt. Baldy east of Los Angeles. Kids less than 3-foot-6 tall can tube for $5 and adults are $15. Beat the crowds by getting there by 9 a.m. when the mountain opens.
