Hop to a fun Easter weekend

Can you believe March is already over? Enjoy the end of the month with plenty of fun events throughout San Diego.

Friday, March 29

Skate Festival
4 p.m. at 444 S. Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas

Legendary skateboarder Willy Santos will launch a tournament at Encinitas shop Arnette. The free tournament will also include skate demonstrations.

Saturday, March 30


Eggstravaganza Spring Festival
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Poinsettia Community Park
Get the kids outside this weekend at the annual Carlsbad family festival. The $5 admission includes an egg hunt, fun-zone and scavenger hunt.

Race for Autism
7 a.m. to noon at Balboa Park
Run or walk a 5K at Balboa Park for a good cause. All proceeds from the race will go toward San Diego programs. Cost is $20 or $40 and includes a fair after the race.

Spring Wool Festival

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 15671 Old Milky Way in Escondido

This local festival will teach you and the kids a thing or two about San Diego’s local wool farms. Demonstrations include sheepdog herding and wool weaving. Admission is free, parking is $3.

Easter Egg Hunt

10 a.m. to noon at Belmont Park
San Diego's iconic boardwalk destination, Belmont Park is hosting a “Brunch and Hunt at the Beach.” The seaside meal is $25 for adults, $13 for kinds and includes an Easter egg hunt in the sand following the meal.
