Top of the Market Reopening After Post-Fire Renovation

Locally based Fish Market Restaurants Inc. plans a Dec. 17 reopening for Top of the Market, the second-floor restaurant that sustained the brunt of damage from a May fire at its downtown San Diego location.

The lower-floor sister restaurant at 750 N. Harbor Drive, known as The Fish Market, reopened in August after operators renovated portions impacted by the blaze, which caused total damage of more than $2 million.

A Fish Market statement said the top-floor eatery saw most of the heavy fire and water damage from the fire. Operators have updated the restaurant with elements including a new color palette, fabrics, wall coverings, lighting, ceiling treatments and furniture.

Hawkins Construction was the contractor on the renovation, with design work by Robinson-Brown Design.
