Operation of the USS Midway Museum has always depended on the work of passionate volunteers. After all, it took a group of dedicated San Diegans 12 years to bring the historic ship to our city. Today, it's become the most-visited naval ship museum in the world thanks in a large part to the countless hours of nearly 700 local volunteers.

And now, to say thanks for powering the success of the USS Midway Museum over the past decade, the Midway is offering adult tickets to local San Diegans for just $10 -- that's a 50 percent discount! To purchase your tickets, click here

Visit now, and you'll help the Museum set another attendance record in 2014 while you interact with enthusiastic volunteers along the way. More than 300 volunteer docents bring the Midway legacy to life for Midway’s 1.1 million guests. Many of the docents are former Navy pilots and more than a handful actually served aboard the USS Midway. Elsewhere, volunteer teams restore portions of the Midway so that they can be opened up to the public, while others restore historic aircraft for the museums air wing. The museum’s community outreach, exhibit development, administration, and the speakers’ bureau program also rely on enthusiastic volunteers.

The Midway has become such an emblematic part of San Diego's cultural fabric that it’s hard to imagine the Embarcadero without the historic ship. Today, 1 in 8 of the Midway's guests are from other countries!

Located on a beautiful waterfront location within walking distance of the Maritime Museum of San Diego, Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter, Petco Park and many other San Diego hot spots, the USS Midway Museum is a must-see on any San Diegan’s to-do list. And now, at $10 a ticket, it's one of the most affordable destinations too.
