Janet Jackson, Linkin Park Announce SD Shows

Both Linkin Park and Janet Jackson announce huge fall tour stops in San Diego

San Diego, it looks like we’re ‘one step closer’ to two huge, just-announced shows: On Tuesday, nu-metal/alt-rock behemoth Linkin Park announced an Oct. 20 show at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, while music fans of a much different feather will get the chance to flock to Valley View Casino Center on Oct. 7 for the one-and-only Ms. Nasty, er, Janet Jackson.

Stylistically, there may not be much tying the two acts together, but when it comes to a live-music spectacle, it’s hard to beat either.

Jackson, who was forced to cancel a portion of her 2016 “Unbreakable” tour dates due to her first pregnancy and subsequent birth of her first child, is back at it -- scheduling 56 shows across North America this year. The legendary multi-Grammy-winner’s new “State of the World” tour kicks off on Sept. 7 in Lafayette, Louisiana and runs through her final stop in Atlanta, Georgia on Dec. 17. Tickets for her all-ages Oct. 7 Valley View Casino Center show go on sale Friday, May 5, at 10 a.m. PST at axs.com. Ticket prices range between $39.50 and $250 each, plus service fees.

Meanwhile, Linkin Park’s “One More Light” tour announcement comes in advance of their seventh studio full-length of the same name, which is set to drop on May 19. The tour (featuring Machine Gun Kelly as opener) kicks off on July 27 in Boston, Massachusetts and runs through Oct. 22 at LA’s Hollywood Bowl. Fans can register for pre-sale tickets here, which begins Tuesday, May 9 (or for various other pre-sale options here). General tickets for the band's Oct. 20 Mattress Firm Amphitheatre show go on sale on Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. PST here.

Don't be left singin' "I Get Lonely" all by yourself in October -- get those wallets and calendars ready, as tickets to each show are sure to be a hot commodity.
