Lifehouse Headline Freedom Concert on USS Midway

Lifehouse headline the USS Midway Museum for a very special benefit fundraiser

If you’re a millenial, you might not remember Lifehouse. But for non-millenials, you and me remember 'hanging by a moment' as vocalist Jason Wade dribbled his warm, buttery drawl all through our ears.

Thanks to Live Nation (a SoundDiego sponsor btw), on Saturday, May 27, the multi-platinum alt-rockers return to San Diego for the Freedom Concert, which is set to take place on the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum (910 North Harbor Drive). The concert will benefit Support the Enlisted Project (STEP), United Through Reading and the Navy SEAL Foundation, all of which focus on improving the lives of service members and their families.

β€œOur entire San Diego team here at Live Nation is so excited to produce this event in partnership with the USS Midway Museum,” said Candace Mandracia, President of Live Nation San Diego. β€œAs a company, Live Nation has always supported the military through various nonprofit organizations and ticket donations, and this concert is yet another way for us to show our appreciation to those who protect and serve us every day.”

I can’t think of a better way to support our troops than by reliving alt-rock’s glory days with a chart-topping (seriously, "Hanging by a Moment" spent more than a year on the charts) on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier with the sun setting on the bay.

For tickets, head to Ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $30 to $125, with proceeds going toward all three of these fantastic nonprofit organizations. For more information about this event, please visit Midway.org.
