Legoland California Resort plans to add new theme area and ride based on the popular Lego Ninjago toys and cartoon series, with an expected debut in spring 2016.
Operators of the Carlsbad theme park said the new area will include interactive elements and a new ride featuring key characters from the Ninjago universe. The characters are featured in Lego Group’s line of construction toys, and also a TV series on Cartoon Network.
Lego Ninjago tells the story of four young Ninja heroes who train under a master martial artist known as Sensei Wu. Park operators said the new area will be included in the cost of admission.
The new attraction is among several elements added at the Carlsbad park during the past four years, including a new 250-room hotel that opened in 2013. Legoland California is among several parks operated worldwide by U.K.-based Merlin Entertainments.
