Legoland Unveils Plans for New Interactive Ride

Legoland California Resort plans to open a new area based on Lego's popular Ninjago franchise which will include a four-dimensional, interactive dark ride.

The theme park announced Thursday that the new Ninjago Land is slated to open in the spring and will have Lego building stations, games for kids, stores and an Asian restaurant.

The area's main attraction will be Ninjago -- The Ride, which will allow up to four guests to use hand gestures to hurl fireballs, lightning, shockwave or ice against enemies.

The ride uses 3D glasses and motion sensors, as well as additional elements to help riders feel wind, heat and smoke.

Legoland broke ground on Ninjago Land in July.
